Crafting and Gathering exp/lvls

Would it be better if the EXP or chance to level while doing your gathering profession was increase? Not messing with the chance of procs just the speed at which you can lvl your profession up. Right now I have VIP and it is still painfully slow to lvl up.

But does that only boost the exp your character receives in exp to lvl you to 55 or does it go to your crafting lvl?

It increases the exp you gain in your leveling for the craft/gathering, however there is still a massive wall, also the boost doesn't appear to stack with VIP (unless this was fixed and I missed it), so really if you have to choose it's almost better to get VIP than to buy individual boosts.
