This mob can be found on the... other server so it can be verified how it works.
When it dies, it will spawn a good underneath it. You get a chance to get a "debuff" that actually recovers your DP each time you hit something. This debuff would actually get resisted at times. This was the best method to morph back on 3.x.
Other fungies on Tiamaranta did a similar behaviour, Redcorn and the ones outside Rancora did recover. Also Shimmering Twisters.
