Main campaign quest for siel's relics

I made it through the quest all the way to the part where I have to go to silentera canyon and find beshmundir's walk.. I got to the front of the temple but the quest never registered me being there.. I ran around the circle that was marked on minimap and even killed some mobs around there figuring it may have something to do with it but nothing happened.. it just will not allow me to register being there and so I am stuck at a seemingly simple point in that quest-line that should otherwise be easily accomplished..
